@ 6.

There shall be no obligation on the Government

to make, continue or renew any subsidy.

§ 7. No school shall be eligible for a subsidy which is

in receipt of a Government grant under any other Code.

§ 8.

If the application of these rogulations shall result in any appreciable rcduction of the amount of subsidy payable to any school under the previous Code such reduction shall not be made without at least two years notice to the Managers

concerned.

§ 9.

Part I. Recurrent Subsidies.

Recurrent subsidies shall be paid quarterly.

The

amount of the subsidy shall be not less than one half of the estimated difference between the approved expenditure of the school and its income from ordinary tuition school fees.

The approved expenditure may include : Salaries.

§ 10.

(i)

(ii) Rent.

SALARIES. § 11. The cost of teachers' salaries shall be estimated

at the rates laid down in sections 12 16 of these regulations.

The salaries of certificated teachers shall be

Head teacher, man

$70 per month.

A certificated teacher means a graduate of a Hong Kong

Government normal school or one who in the opinion of the Director of Education has at least equivalent qualifications.

13. The salaries of Passed Student Teachers shall be estimated at the following rates :

Head teacher, man

$60 per month.

Assistant teacher, man

$50
